2009 NOSC San Diego Charities Reception | |
NOSC awarded over $12,500 in grants to charities for 2009.
We will begin accepting written requests from nonprofit organizations for financial aid for 2010 in early 2010. Requests must detail your organizational mission and describe specific programs/items to be funded by the grant. The requested dollar amount and your organization’s impact on the military community will be evaluated.
When considering your application for funds, please be aware in order to fulfill our obligations as an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit entity, we must be assured that funds donated to your organization will be expended by May 31, 2011. These funds must be spent on programs or materials that support the general mission of NOSC in service to the military community.
If selected as a charity recipient we require:
• Acknowledgment of receipt of funds.
• Accounting of expenditures.
Eligibility guidelines are as follow:
Organization must be military-oriented or assist service members in some capacity.
Organization must specify how it provides for military families, the dollar amount desired, and an explanation of how the funds will be used.
Requests must be made in writing.
All complete requests must be postmarked by April 15, 2010 to be considered. For more information regarding eligibility, application procedure and selection process, please see by-laws or Email: Charities@noscsandiego.com
Please spread the word to others who may need our help. Organizations whose grant requests are accepted will receive written notification in early May 2010.
