On Sunday, May 21, the Naval Officers’ Spouses’ Club of San Diego had the honor of recognizing all of our Charity and Scholarship recipients. Presented on the beautiful historic grounds of Naval Air Station North Island Flag Quarters, the event was a success. We were able to spend some time getting to know each of the recipients and honoring their achievements. Each year, NOSC of San Diego works diligently to raise funds for a wide variety of charities and scholarships. This year, the club was able to donate nearly $50,000 to organizations and individuals. All of our scholarship recipients are former-military members or dependents of active duty members. Many of our charities are helping to assist military members and their families. Please visit our Scholarship and Charities page of our website for a list of scholarship individuals and charity recipients. Follow us on social media to see a highlight of each of our Charity Recipients every Wednesday! A special thank you to all of our Sand Dollar Collection and Sand Dollar Too volunteers for all of your hardworking this year raising funds. We are excited to see what this upcoming year has to hold. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact SDTooManager@gmail.com.
May 2023 - A Round of Applause!
I am so honored to announce that NOSC San Diego raised over $40,000 this year to donate to various Scholarship and Charities.
We are so excited to announce each recipient below. Please stay tuned to our social media outlets for highlights on each of our charity recipients in the months to follow.
A special thank you to all of our volunteers who have worked countless hours at The Sand Dollar Collection and Sand Dollar Too this year. While it was with heavy hearts that we had to close The Sand Dollar Collection in 2023, Sand Dollar Too remains open and thriving.
The Sand Dollar Too is always looking to recruit new volunteers. PCS season is upon us and this means the loss of several of our dedicated store volunteers. Volunteering is easy, fun and can include shopping... who could ask for a better opportunity? To volunteer, you must be a NOSC member... but that is it! The training is easy and can be scheduled with Alison, our SD Too Manager. Please reach out to her at firstname.lastname@example.org today!

May 2023 - Annual Wine & Chocolate Tasting Event
NOSC members recently enjoyed the annual Wine and Chocolate tasting on Breakers Beach. Hosted by the NOSC Board, the event included several wine tastings and delicious chocolates and charcuterie. A non-alcohol option was available as well. No matter what you were drinking, the enriching spouse conversation was the sweetest treat of all. We would love to see you at an upcoming event! Check out our Events page here.
April 2023 - Coronado Flower Show Pop-Up Store A Success
The fundraising arm of NOSC, Sand Dollar Store, took part again this year in the Coronado Flower Show. The show, in it's 101st year, had a Hollywood-In-Bloom theme and was a delight to all who attended. The Sand Dollar 20' x 30' pop-up store provided a large amount of merchandise found in the actual store. NOSC raised nearly $17,000 over the two days. NOSC and its flagship store, The Sand Dollar, is an all-volunteer organization providing funds to local military causes through scholarships and charities.
