Can you believe it's already June?! We are officially halfway through the year which means it is the perfect time to follow up on your plans to get more involved/read more/meet new people this year and check out our book club! Come meet fellow Navy spouses as we enjoy food, wine, and discuss American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins, our book club selection for June. Please RSVP so reservations can be made. Take note - for June we are having to depart from our usual schedule of meeting on the third Tuesday of the month due to scheduling conflicts. June's book club meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 7th.

Book description from Goodreads "Lydia lives in Acapulco. She has a son, Luca, the love of her life, and a wonderful husband who is a journalist. And while cracks are beginning to show in Acapulco because of the cartels, Lydia’s life is, by and large, fairly comfortable. But after her husband’s tell-all profile of the newest drug lord is published, none of their lives will ever be the same.

Forced to flee, Lydia and Luca find themselves joining the countless people trying to reach the United States. Lydia soon sees that everyone is running from something. But what exactly are they running to?"

Looking ahead: In July we will be resuming our regular schedule of meeting on the third Tuesday of the month. The book club selection for July is "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden.
