Hiking (aka walking with a purpose) is a great way to experience the beauty of Southern California and get to know other NOSC spouses.
Website: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/california/torrey-pines-state-beach-and-broken-hill-trail-loop
Brief Description: Torrey Pines hike takes you to the best of the park – you experience get great ocean views, hike through unique geological formations, hike on an antique version of the Pacific Coast Highway, and of course, get see the Torrey Pine.  The trail is about 3.3 mile loop and takes an average of 1.5 hours to complete. This is a popular hike so we will not be alone on the trail, but as a beachfront hike it should be cooler weather, but we still should start early.  This hike should be manageable for virtually any level of hiker.
This is a state park, there is an entrance fee to park. The money for parking goes to preserving the land and keeping the area clean and well-grooming.  It also means facilities such as bathrooms, which not all hikes will have. Once you RSVP I will send more information about the hike and we can possibly carpool to save gas and parking fees.
What to bring?
Must haves: Sturdy shoes and at least 1L of water you can carry during the hike.
Optional Items: a camelpak or small backpack to carry water.  A small snack to eat on the trail.  A camera (or your phone).
Depending on the group preference we may enjoy more of the park at the end of the hike or go grab a bite to eat for breakfast.

What NOT to bring?

1. Pets.  Sorry, I love to hike with my dog but the state park does not allow pets. Generally, no dogs on the group hikes for the comfort of everyone
2. Kids.  Again, love my kiddo but this is you time.  Please no children or spouses, future hikes might be open to children or spouses but this first hike is just for spouses.

These group hikes are a get way to try out some area trails to hike with your family in the future!
