May Book Club
When: Tuesday May 16th at 6 pm
Where: Courtney's House in Bonita (address to be provided after registration)

We'll be doing things a bit differently in May with a combo book club/movie night! The book club selection for May is "A Man Called Ove" by Fredrik Backman. We'll start at 6 pm discussing the book followed by a viewing of the recent movie based on the book "A Man Called Otto" starring Tom Hanks at 7 pm. If you can't make it by 6 feel free to join us at 7 for the movie!

Book description from Amazon: "Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him “the bitter neighbor from hell.” But must Ove be bitter just because he doesn’t walk around with a smile plastered to his face all the time?

Behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul. All of which will change one cranky old man and a local residents’ association to their very foundations."

Looking ahead: Book club meets at 7 pm on the third Tuesday of every month in locations all over San Diego as chosen by book club members. Our book club selection for June is "State of Terror" by Louise Penny and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
